چکیده

The paper studies the accuracy of modeling moisture transport under conditions sprinkler irrigation using evapotranspiration assessment methods that take into account soil conditions. Appropriate modifications Penman-Monteith and Priestley-Taylor models are considered. Moisture is performed Richards equation in its integer- fractional-order forms. Parameters identification by particle swarm optimization algorithm based on readings suction pressure sensors. Results for two periods 11 50 days demonstrate possibility up to ~20% increase simulation a modified model when maintained range content root layer 70%-100% field capacity. When 80%-100% capacity, consideration within did not enhance accuracy. This confirms independence from at levels above 80% capacity as this case actual reaches level close potential one. Scenario entire growing season with subsequent estimation crop (maize) yield showed regimes generated models, which data, potentially provide higher yields lower water supply.

Study of Changes in Soil Moisture and Salinity Under PlasticMulch and Drip Irrigation in Pistachio Trees

In this study, changes in soil moisture and salinity contents in drip irrigation combined with white and black plastic mulches compared to no mulch (control) was evaluated. The experiment was carried out in two commercial pistachio orchards (Ohadi cultivar) with irrigation frequencies of 8 to 12 days with a total water consumption 4100 and 6170 m3ha−1. The study was conducted in a complete rand...

Optimizing Soil Moisture Uniformity and Irrigation Management

This research is a study on the relationship of irrigation water treatments and soil moisture distribution uniformity (DU). Soil moisture distribution was based on long-term data sets that were collected during wet and dry soil conditions (from permanent wilting point to field capacity) using a novel electromagnetic sensor-based platform moving inside subsurface horizontal access-tubes. The irr...

Observed timescales of evapotranspiration response to soil moisture

[1] The sensitivity of evapotranspiration (ET) to soil moisture storage plays an important role in the landatmosphere system. Yet little is known about its magnitude, or its dependence on vegetation, soil, and/or climate characteristics. Here we relate the sensitivity to the timescale of ET decay in absence of rainfall, and show that it can thus be derived from time series of ET alone. We analy...

DREAM: a distributed model for runoff, evapotranspiration, and antecedent soil moisture simulation

The paper introduces a semi-distributed hydrological model, suitable for continuous simulations, based upon the use of daily and hourly time steps. The model is called Distributed model for Runoff, Evapotranspiration, and Antecedent soil Moisture simulation (DREAM). It includes a daily water budget and an “event scale” hourly rainfall-runoff module. The two modules may be used separately or in ...

Diurnal Method for Evapotranspiration Estimation from Soil Moisture Profile

Water use of plants can be manifested in diurnal signal of soil moisture changes, and also of water table fluctuations in shallow water table environments. The signal can be especially strong in case of groundwater dependent forest vegetation with high water demand, where the water uptake is partly happening across the capillary zone. A new technique for water uptake estimation was elaborated o...
